Windows Tip: Disable Recycle Bin Confirmation

Send files to the Recycle Bin without having to confirm a deletion.

By Call for Help staff

Sending a file to the Recycle Bin is easy. Just single-click the file and hit the Delete button. You'll be greeted by the Delete Confirmation dialog box, which asks you if you really want to delete the file. This fail-safe feature isn't necessary, since you can rescue the file from the Recycle Bin should you need it at a later date.

Today Leo shows you how to put an end to the Delete Confirmation dialog box by following these steps:

Go to your Desktop.
Right-click the Recycle Bin and choose Properties.
In the Global tab feature of the Recycle Bin properties uncheck "Display delete confirmation dialog box."
