Chris Pirillo shows you how to remove the speaker icon from your system tray.

Eliminate some unnecessary clutter on your Windows taskbar by removing the yellow speaker icon. Today Chris walks you through the steps.

Right-click the speaker icon.
Choose "Adjust Audio Properties."
Uncheck "Show volume control on the taskbar."
Press Apply and OK.

Don't worry, you haven't lost the icon for good. If you find that you just can't live without instant access to your volume controls, follow these steps to bring it back:

Click Start, Settings, and Control Panel.
Double-click the Multimedia icon.
Click the Audio tab and check the "Show volume control on the taskbar" box.
Click Apply and OK.
